A Note From Our Founder
When I moved to the West of Ireland, I was inspired by the extraordinary women I began meeting.
Women building businesses, strengthening communities, raising families, championing causes, creating art, sharing ideas, and quietly making a difference every day.
I was equally struck by how much was happening across the region—and how difficult it could sometimes be to discover those opportunities or find our way to one another.
Having spent more than two decades working in leadership, community development, and bringing people together around shared purpose, I know that some of the most meaningful opportunities in life begin with connection.
A conversation becomes a friendship. An introduction becomes a collaboration. A shared idea becomes something that changes lives.
I began imagining what might happen if we could make those connections easier, more intentional, and more accessible to women across the West.
What if we could create a place where women could discover what's happening, share what they're passionate about, support one another's ambitions, and inspire each other to think bigger?
And what if, over time, those individual connections became a powerful network capable of creating meaningful change?
That's the vision behind Women of the West.
My hope is that WOW grows into something shaped and sustained by the women who become part of it. A community where every woman has something to contribute, where we celebrate both our differences and our shared experiences, and where connection becomes a force for positive change.
Because I believe deeply in the power of women.
And I believe that when we bring that power together, the possibilities really are unlimited.
